I have always been intrigued by the what drives human behavior and how it either helps or hinders the individual. I, then witnessed my grandmother’s subsequent mental decline from Alzheimer disease and felt so powerless to assist her. This event created the desire in me to learn more about the brain’s function and the interplay between thoughts and emotions, leading me to pursue a personal educational imperative to complete my doctoral studies and subsequently apply all I have learned to assist as many people as possible.” "I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families and strive to assist them with their needs.

I am a multi-faceted and dedicated mental health professional with 19 years of experience and I encourage others to reach out to me in order to assist them with their mental health and emotional wellness goals.
Hello, my name is John Mann and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1980. I have experience working with mental health, adjustment disorders, relationship dynamics, self esteem, anxiety, depression, life change, trauma, relationship issues, family dynamics, and substance abuse issues with young adults, adults and older adults. I do not believe that people are “broken”, needing to be fixed by a professional. I believe that there are many approaches towards achieving a goal and that working together is the key to establishing an effective and sustainable treatment approach.
My philosophy in helping has always focused on the person and the fostering of a relationship. My specialty is cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions focused therapy, and skills training. I believe that each individual, family, friends, or couple require a custom, unique approach to move forward towards the identified goals.
Therapy is a tool that allows individuals to challenge their thought processes, belief systems, learn new information, create a plan of attack, develop new skills, and replace unhealthy habits. There is no judgement; only minds coming together for the healthiest, happiest you. Come as you are.
I love being a social worker. I have a master’s degree from New York University and twenty-five years of experience in the helping profession. I enjoyed a varied career; helping people obtain basic needs like food and shelter, helping people recover from addictions, and helping people heal from stressful experiences. I believe in the wisdom of Carl Rogers who said, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change." ~~Carl Rogers. I help individuals and families to develop this compassion that helps transition life’s challenges into opportunities. I am trained in trauma informed care, mindfulness based stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and solution focused therapies. I aspire, always, to learn and to be a proficient guide to all that seek my assistance.
Dr. Mary is truly one of the most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure to work with. I first worked with her as my psychologist and found true healing with her and her methods. I then moved forward to work on my goals and future through her coaching expertise. Initially, I felt overwhelmed with the possibilities and didn't quite know where to begin. Through Dr. Mary's coaching, I've uncovered my focus, gained a clearer understanding of my goals, and my motivation has soared! I am learning to discover where and what I want as I move through my life, and am finally going after the life I've envisioned for myself with enthusiasm. Without Dr. Mary, I don't know where I would be today.
