AJ GCTC round - Gulf Coast Therapy Center

Meet AJ

Welcome! My name is AJ and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Gulf Coast Therapy Center. Though I was originally from Florida, I have a military background and graduated in 2006 from Troy University in Alabama. When you come to my sessions, you’re allowed to scream and you’re allowed to cry because I know life is difficult but I am here to show you that you don’t have to go through life alone.

Furthermore, when it comes to feeling better, I will also help show you that it can be more possible than you ever thought. We all have the right and the ability to feel some peace and acceptance about our lives; the things we can control and the things we can not. Just even coming to a therapy session shows a sign of strength and courage by recognizing the need for support. When my clients come to see me, they come from all ages and backgrounds.

I have experience in many different areas but specialites in areas such as such as ADHD, depression, emotional disorders, ODD, and Trauma. Additionally, my therapy methods employ:

  • Solution-Focus Therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)

If you are struggling with something or need support and have not found the right fit for treatment, I encourage you to reach out and ask any questions you may have about the counseling process or working with me! If we end up working together, you have my commitment to approach our time with compassion and optimism
